Front of House Manager (Permanent Full-Time position)

Manager role- front of house

We have a rare and exciting opportunity for a Front of House Manager to join our team living and working in the beautiful Queenstown-Lakes District. Working in collaboration with the senior management team, you will utilise your hands on, gold standard leadership skills to manage the café, facilitate seamless café operations and most crucially, drive a culture and atmosphere where staff love to come to work.

You will be our front facing, meet and greet role model for the team, ensuring fabulous customer experiences and maximising sales of Pembroke Patisserie’s ‘to die for’ delicacies! Duties include: 

  • Managing the front of house team including training, roster management and staff recruitment
  • Full ownership of day to day café operations including organising staff breaks, delegating tasks to team members, barista service as required and ordering stock
  • Liaising with the Head/Sous Chefs to ensure smooth running of the patisserie

Being part of the Pembroke Patisserie team will provide the opportunity to showcase your leadership experience and sales skills and launch the next stage in your career, all whilst ensuring you keep well fed at lunch time with our great staff lunch program and staff discounts!

Our ideal candidate will have a minimum of 3 years’ experience in hospitality supervisory/management positions, proven administrative experience in Microsoft Office 365, IDEAL POS experience and the ability to follow and document Food Control Plans and adhere to processes and procedures. You will have a high level of interpersonal and leadership skills, cash handling experience and of course, the ability to make an exceptional flat white and train others how to do so! You will also have a current NZ drivers’ licence and full working rights. This role requires you to be vaccinated in accordance with the Covid-19 Protection Framework.

Customer Service/ Barista

The award-winning Pembroke Patisserie is based in Albert Town, a 5-minute drive from the Wanaka central business district. We create a range of classic patisserie offerings, including our now-famous pastries, doughnuts and savouries as well as freshly made breads & sandwiches complimented by Allpress coffee. We operate 7 days a week with rostered hours between 7am-5pm.

An opportunity exists to join the awesome team at our busy patisserie in Albert Town. We have a position available for a front of house customer service person, 30 hours per week. You must be presentable, reliable, friendly and professional with an eye for detail. Hospitality customer service experience is a must and bakery experience would also be an advantage. Barista experience is preferred, but training will be provided along with all the coffee you can handle and delicious staff lunches. We are open 7 days per week so you must be able to work weekends and school holidays.
