The award-winning Pembroke Patisserie is based in Albert Town, a 5-minute drive from the Wanaka central business district. We are a renowned producer of quintessential French pastries and take pride in our excellent team of front and back of house Pastry Professionals. We operate 7 days a week with rostered hours between 5am-5pm.
Wanaka’s award-winning Pembroke Patisserie in Albert Town has an opportunity for a full-time (30+hours per week) Pastry Cook or Bakery Assistant.
Our kitchen team is a diverse international crew who are dedicated and disciplined in their roles. This role is suitable for an entry level candidate or someone with up to 1-2 years of industry experience however, some commercial kitchen experience is a must. If you have a passion for learning in a professional kitchen environment this is an opportunity to work and learn across all sections of the kitchen including desserts, cakes, pastry, larder and breads.
You’ll need to be confident following instructions, we’re keen for you to ask questions and we are asking for the successful candidate to be reliable and willing to learn.

Our kitchen team is a diverse international crew who are dedicated and disciplined in their roles. Our ability to work as a team is central to our success and reputation. We are looking for the someone who can appreciate the importance of working together, meeting deadlines and can focus on getting the job done whilst enjoying the creative hospitality scene and lifestyle that Wanaka offers.
The role is suitable for a candidate with an NZ Certificate in Baking Level 3-4 or Le Cordon Bleu Certificate, or industry equivalent from another country.
You’ll need to be reliable, punctual, accurate, have a good sense of time management using established systems and routines to ensure quality control is consistent. Ideally you will have 4-5 years of experience in a commercial bakery and pastry kitchen and will be proficient in dough lamination, croissant, bread, and sourdough.
